Teacher Training Workshop

Introduction

Gurukul College for Excellence Bhopal has been practicing innovative teaching practices to attain its mission of being committed to excellence in management education, research and training, use of contemporary participant-centric pedagogies and teaching methods and establishing a presence in emerging segments of management education. GCE Bhopal is also committed to provide research and teaching skill enhancement programmes for academicians of India.

In this endeavour, GCE Bhopal is offering a newly designed “Teacher Training Workshop (TTW)” programme to research scholars/doctoral candidates/new faculties and academicians of India, to acquire/improve teaching skills and to adopt most effective pedagogies for the betterment of existing teaching scenarios.

This “ Teacher Training Workshop (TTW)” programme of GCE Bhopal will be conducted with the following objectives:

  • To understand process and methods of teaching MBA courses
  • To craft and execute course/module/session/topic specific instructional strategy
  • To facilitate the development process of teaching content by exploring teaching resources using different sources of management education
  • To equip with assessment/evaluation tools and techniques for a course
  • To get familiar with process of assessing teaching performance and learning outcomes
  • To understand process of course design, material development
  • To develop understanding of pedagogy and design suitable pedagogy for your course
  • To make course delivery more effective using mini case(s)
  • To enrich course material by developing mini case(s)
  • To develop understanding of educational technology and leveraging for effective course delivery
  • To understand nuances of MOOCS and improving its effectiveness

Course Structure

This course is designed and structured to fulfil needs of doctoral candidates/new faculty in management education.

1. Evolution of Management Teaching

2. Framework for teaching and learning

3. Student motivation and learning theories

4. Course design

5. Evaluation and assessment

6. Different methods of teaching

7. Developing and Using Simulations and Games

8. Case teaching and case development

9. Leveraging technology for student engagement

10. MOOCs and blended courses

11. Familiarization with teaching resources

12. Role of teaching in an academician’s career

13. Methods of master teachers

14. Teaching practicum


Certificate of Course Completion

After successful completion of course, participant will be awarded a certificate of course completion issued by GCE Bhopal. This certificate will be accompanied with credit score based on formative evaluation for this course. This certificate will enable participant to earn ‘equivalent credit’ at parent institution/university as per new education policy (NEP) of Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Course Duration

This programme will commence on Dec 20, 2022 and will be spread over three weeks of 20 sessions (75 Minutes of each session each teaching day). Participants outside GCE Bhopal will attend the sessions for this course through online mode.
